The primary work location is in Palo Alto, CA Travel requirements are minimal and are usually related to conferences/trainingor operations of one week or less. Digital Forensic Investigators examine and analyze electronic media in support of computer intrusion, counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and criminal cases supporting both Federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies. After analyzing such media using a broad range of computer forensic tools, Digital Forensic Investigators summarize their findings in a technical report that must be useful to other technical specialists but also understandable by laypersons. On rare occasions, Digital Forensic Investigators may be required to testify in a court of law as a fact witness to the specifics of a case or as an expert witness to the computer forensic analysis process.

Qualifications

 

3+ Years of Prior Experience in Investigative or Intelligence Environments

2+ Years of Computer Forensic or Media Exploitation Experience Within a Law Eforcement or Intelligence Agency

2+ Years of Report Writing Experience (Other Writing Experience Evaluated on a Case-by-Case Basis)

1+ year prior Experience with EnCase, FTK, ILook, Sleuth Kit/Autopsy, or Other Computer Forensic Tools

 

Preferred Additional Skills

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Intelligence, or Other Related Field

Master’s Degree Preferred

1 or More Related Certifications such as the EnCE, CFCE, CCE, or CISSP

Programming or Scripting Ability in Perl or EnCaseEnScript

Foreign Language Ability (Nonspecific)
